BYETTA, Tip 2 (insüline bağımlı olmayan) şeker hastalığı (diabetes mellitus) olan yetişkinlerde kan şekeri kontrolünü sağlamak için enjekte edilerek kullanılan bir ilaçtır.

Is there a generic version of Byetta?
It's not currently available in generic form. Byetta contains one active drug ingredient: exenatide. Exenatide is also available in extended-release form as the brand-name drug Bydureon. The following information describes dosages that are commonly used or recommended.
What should I know about Byetta before taking it?
Important information. You should not use Byetta if you have severe kidney disease (or you are on dialysis), or if you have slowed digestion or diabetic ketoacidosis. You should not use Byetta together with fast-acting or short-acting insulins. Do not use Byetta together with Bydureon.
Does Byetta reduce the dose of insulin glargine?
When Byetta was initiated in combination with insulin glargine, the dose of insulin glargine was decreased by 20% in patients with an HbA 1c ≤8.0% to minimize the risk of hypoglycemia. See Table 9 for insulin dose titration algorithm.
Can Byetta and sulfonylurea be taken together?
The risk of hypoglycemia is increased when Byetta is used in combination with a sulfonylurea. Therefore, patients receiving Byetta and a sulfonylurea may require a lower dose of the sulfonylurea to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
